"We met Shawn about 2 1/2 years ago at a mutual friends house and as we were having conversations with him we mentioned that we were "thinking" about buying a house. Certainly at that time the "thinking" part really had no clue as to where we wanted to go but we were in a rental home and we knew that we wanted something more permanent. Shawn gave us his contact information and Barb and I really filed it for awhile until we got serious about looking for a home.
When we first called Shawn, we explained to him what we were interested in and what our criteria was. Obviously that was an open door for him to take us everywhere. What we liked immediately with Shawn was his patience and understanding of our needs and not just selling a home to make a commission. This process took somewhere in the midst of about a 3 months before we made a final decision. As we were approaching the final step of putting an offer on a home, Shawn called us and gave us bad news that the home already had an offer on it. We were about to give up when he basically said let's look at one more that "I think you will like." We walked in and immediately fell in love with the home that we own today.
To sum it up, Shawn is not your typical realtor. He listens very effectively, he is detailed in his evaluations of looking at homes based on your needs and quite frankly he talks to you as if he were buying a home for himself. Selling a home for Shawn is not because of a commission its because he wants you to be happy in the home and he brings a lot of personal character into his selling. His knowledge is impeccable about areas that are good to look at, he does his homework and let's you know exactly what you can expect. More importantly Shawn is a "non- pressure" realtor, who wants your business because of his relationship that he develops with you. We met Shawn in a small get together and because of his outgoing personality we have developed a very good friendship, not just another realtor."
